For Labor Day we thought it would be fun to spend the day in Madison, Indiana. Madison is about an hour away, and is a darling little town that was established in the early 1800's. The town itself is so cute, and it was a really relaxing place to spend the day. It's on the Ohio river, and also along a scenic driving route so we expected it to be really busy, but it was almost dead. We walked all over the town and visited the town's museum that had a few hands-on displays for the kids. We then visited a couple shops and had lunch at a locally-owned sandwich shop and then stopped for ice cream. The drive to Madison was all country backroads, and on the way we had passed several roadside fruit stands, so on the way home we stopped to get some peaches, and they were so good. Next weekend we're going to make some peach strawberry jam - yum! Can't wait!
