Advent Calendars

Last night we had our favorite FHE of the year. One of Tadd's family's traditions growing up was to make advent calendars, and Tadd and I have carried that tradition into our home, and it's one of our favs. The girls look forward to it every year.

We took them to Michaels a few days ago and let them pick out their posterboard and stickers that they wanted to use. They chose the squishy foam shapes, and I have to say they were pretty creative with them.

After, we had awesome ginger cookies -- thank you Ashly for the recipe, if anyone wants it let me know. They're the best -- very Christmasy! And Yardie made homemade eggnog icecream that was soooo good, all she did was pour eggnog (the good stuff) into a ziplock bag and then put that inside another ziplock bag filled with ice and salt, shook it around a little and stuck it in the freezer for about an hour. It's definitely worth trying!
