Kentucky State Fair

We try to give the kids different experiences out of our norm and expose them to as much as we can, and apparently they're not going to like it all. This weekend we thought we'd check out the State Fair. We'd heard it was huge (which it was,) and thought the girls would like it (which they didn't.) Graesie, I think, enjoyed it. She's usually not one to complain and goes with the flow. She especially liked the funnel cake. We looked for a fried Snickers, but they didn't have any which was a let down for Tadd since that's what he was looking forward to the most. Tatum cried the entire time we were in the animal section and when we went into the FFA area, where there was tobacco and hay. She thought it was all stinky, and kept her nose plugged the entire time. What wooses! I thought it was kind of cool. What I learned: Cowboys use blowdryers and spray paint on their cows to make them more attractive. Who knew!

How funny! My kids love the WA state fair, but maybe it's because we haven't been to Disneyland yet. Sad! Anyway, good to see what you're up to again. Did you have a busy summer! Our school doesn't start yet until Sept. 3.
